What is the Kings Heath Business Improvement District?
The Kings Heath Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined geographical area within Kings Heath centre where businesses have voted (in accordance with the Local Government Act, Business Improvement Districts (England) Regulations, 2004) to invest collectively in local improvements to enhance their trading environment.
A postal ballot of eligible business ratepayers was undertaken in 2007 and, with a 74.4% majority vote in favour, this then secured the necessary mandate for the BID, which officially commenced on 1 April 2008. This BID will run for 5 years.
