The Clean & Green Committee deals with a variety of environmental issues. We organise the Kings Heath Floral Trail, which is judged by Heart of England in Bloom – we won Silver–Gilt Award in 2009! We started a Business Waste & Recycling Scheme and manage the used Battery Collection & Recycling Scheme – both national firsts! Our Anti-graffiti strategy has resulted in considerably reduced tagging and fly posting. We work with local community groups/campaigns such as Growing Real Organic Food in Urban Neighbourhoods (GROFUN) that encourages people to grow fruit and vegetables in their own gardens.
