The Infrastructure & Community Security Committee underpins the great work of the other two sub-comittees. We aim to enhance the environment by de-cluttering the High Street and installing better litter bins and seating, improving shop frontages and the safety and security of residents, shoppers, businesses and visitors. We funded Kings Heath Police Station with equipment to enable live-feed CCTV footage. We have undertaken business and footfall surveys to benchmark us against other town centres. We fund Street Wardens to keep the area litter and graffiti free. We have ongoing input into the progress of the ‘village square’ and initiated the Community Toilet Scheme to help try and increase the availability of toilet facilities for shoppers.
